Let’s Slow Down and Enjoy Dior Beauty: A Candid Take on Seasonal Beauty Releases

Thinking Out Loud About My recent Dior Beauty Shopping
Lately, I’ve had this lingering feeling that Dior Beauty, other beauty brands, and even retailers are constantly rushing us from one launch to the next. Almost as if there’s no time to breathe or fully enjoy what we just purchased. Christmas barely ends, and suddenly we’re expected to move on to Lunar New Year… then Valentine’s Day… and whatever comes next.
This post is a little different. It’s more of a thinking-out-loud moment. You can read this blog for those who enjoy reading or watch the video below, and join me while I unpack my recent Dior Beauty products I shopped last Christmas. No pressure, no hype. Just honest thoughts from a Dior lover who wants to enjoy the products we already own.
Seasonal Excitement vs. Reality
Don’t get me wrong, we’re Diorables for a reason. Lunar New Year packaging is beautiful, Valentine’s designs are charming, and there’s always something to look forward to. But if we’re being real, most of the excitement this season comes down to packaging, not new products.
The gift sets, in particular, feel underwhelming. They’re familiar items wrapped differently, and unlike before, they don’t offer the savings we used to get. That’s part of why I’m personally not in a rush to buy anything new right now.
Sometimes, it’s okay to enjoy one season at a time.
Boutique Shopping vs. Online
One important reminder: shopping at Dior boutiques can come with perks you won’t always see online. Some stores still have exclusive gifts, as the Red Star pouch appeared earlier in the boutiques. They might also have more samples and curated gifts that match your needs. Something small, but makes the overall shopping experience special, is the Gold Dior Star Charm that is only available in boutiques or if you purchase fashion items.
If you work with a Dior Beauty Boutique sales associate:
Your purchase can count toward your loyalty status
Enjoy boutique-only gifts
They also have "store exclusive" products such as the mini Mitzas, accessories and some might have costume jewelries
These little differences can make a big impact.
My Current Dior Beauty Shopping Philosophy
Right now, I’m not urgently buying anything new. I may pick up a small item here and there for content purposes, especially to show new gift packaging designs or truly new releases, but otherwise, I’m pausing.
Here’s what I recommend:
Buy only what you need or truly love
Hold off if nothing feels special
Enjoy what you already own
Take items out of their boxes and actually use them
Reorganize and rediscover forgotten favorites
Until we see meaningful updates to the loyalty program or genuinely exciting gifts with purchase, it’s okay to wait.
A Final Thought
There is so much lacking this year when it come to gifts with purchases, welcome gifts, gift sets and the most disappointing of all, the customer service. Hopefully, we'll see some improvements as we progress this year. Time will tell.
For now, my advice is simple: slow down. Enjoy your collection. Be intentional. And don’t feel pressured to buy just because a new season is being advertised.
Thank you, as always, for watching, reading, and sharing your thoughts with me. Whether you’re subscribed or just stopping by, I appreciate you.
See you next time 💫
Your Artsy Momsy,
Kristin
